These Chocolate Avocado Brownies are a rich, fudgy dessert that’s both delicious and nutritious. Made with ripe avocados for creaminess and natural sweetness, these brownies are a healthier alternative to traditional brownies. This whole food plant-based, oil-free recipe is perfect for satisfying your chocolate cravings!
Ingredients
- 1 ripe avocado mashed (about 1/2 cup)
- ½ cup maple syrup
- ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ cup almond flour
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- optional: 1/4 cup dairy-free chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.
- Mix the Wet Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed avocado, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- Add the Dry Ingredients: Sift in the cocoa powder, almond flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir until just combined. If using, fold in the dairy-free chocolate chips.
- Bake the Brownies: Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean (a few moist crumbs are okay).
- Cool and Serve: Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into squares and serve.
