Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper
  • Large Bowl

Ingredients

  • 3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 cup mixed nuts such as almonds, walnuts, and pecans, chopped
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract optional
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon optional
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats and mixed nuts.
  • In a separate small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, vanilla extract, cinnamon (if using), and a pinch of salt.
  • Pour the maple syrup mixture over the dry ingredients and stir well to evenly coat the oats and nuts.
  • Spread the granola mixture in an even layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for about 20-25 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the granola is golden brown and fragrant. Keep an eye on it to avoid burning.
  • Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the granola cool completely on the pan sheet. It will continue to crisp up as it cools.
  • Once cooled, transfer the granola to an airtight container for storage. It can be stored at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
